Hybrid Vigor

As we mentioned in our “About Our Family” section, each of us experienced different types of dogs growing up.  Once we were married we also owned our own dogs and experienced a variety.  One thing that became clear was that mixed breed dogs definitely had balanced personalities and did not suffer from genetic issues specific to a purebred.  Hence, the meaning and blessing of HYBRID VIGOR,-  a mixed bred dog or hybrid, creating a new breed to temper genetic specific issues and bring out great characteristics of each breed.  In essence it is creating a happier, healthier, and stronger breed. This is the HYBRID VIGOR we strive for in the Irish Doodle.

Parent Breeds

Bernese Mountain Dogs are active, outgoing and sweet.  They are incredibly affectionate and good natured towards people of all ages making them excellent family dogs. Thanks to their calm spirit and willingness to play, they are brilliant companions for young children.  They are highly intelligent making them one of the smartest breeds for obedience and working.

Poodles are highly intelligent and one of the most trainable breeds.  They are loyal and loving. They need their daily outdoor walk and play times and are then fairly inactive indoors. They desire to be your companion and friend and will desire to be touched, quickly bonding with their family members.

F1b Bernedoodle Puppies

Our puppies are F1b which is a cross-back between a first generation Bernedoodle (F1) and a Purebred Standard Poodle.  (See ‘Understanding the Generations” chart above.) This brings out even more of the non-shedding qualities.

You should expect your Bernedoodle Puppy to be a wonderful family pet.  Because of their intelligent, friendly manners they would also make great, companion or therapy dogs.  They are excited to please their family and are devoted and loyal.

The Bernedoodle tri-color pattern features three different colors on the coat. There can be various tri-color patterns with colors like black, brown, tan, rust, apricot, red, white, and cream. The dominant base color is usually darker and white markings are found on the face, chest, feet, and paws. Depending on the stud coloring will dictate the final coloring.

Their coats are beautiful, soft and between wavy to curly depending on their genetic percentage as well as how long you choose to keep their hair.  You will have a hard time not petting them because their coats are irresistible.

Medium sized bernedoodles typically are between 18-26” tall and between 40-55 pounds. They will live between 12-15 years becoming a true member of your family.

Always affectionate
