Louie

I can’t say enough good things about Sarah and Brad. From the first conversation to the many after we picked up Louie, Sarah was always available and more than ready to help answer all my questions. I hadn’t even met them face to face, but felt like we had been friends for years.  We talked many times on the phone, emailed and texted and Sarah was always prompt. The buying process was communicated very well and was simple.

Because we lived about 4-1/2 hours away (in Genoa, Illinois) we had a difficult time getting up there to pick out our puppy in person. The website was very helpful with pictures of the puppies. Facebook was another great outlet as we were able to see videos and updated pictures. We had it narrowed down to two puppies and we were able to facetime multiple times to see both and how they interacted with each other and with Sarah and Brad. It was very evident that these puppies were loved and well taken care of.  Sarah was always willing to facetime if we wanted to see more live action of the pups.

When we picked up Louie, we were welcomed by Eme and all the pups! They had a big yard surrounded by woods to play in and a spacious outdoor fenced area. We felt very welcomed and after some brief paperwork, Sarah sent us home with a gift bag that included puppy food for a few days, a toy and a blanket that had Eme’s scent on it.

What I loved most was hearing Sarah talk about how they would take all the pups and Eme on daily walks…with no leashes! Sarah would tell me that this breed just loves to be around people and they would always stay close to them.  This is so true! Louie loves being around us. If you are looking for a family dog or companionship, this breed is awesome!  Louie loves to lay and sit by us. If we’re standing, he’ll come over and just lean against our leg (we call this a dog hug!)  If we are sitting at the table, he’ll just come lay on our feet.  Louie LOVES to play outside, go for walks and play fetch with his frisbee and ball!

I’m allergic to dogs and because of his hypoallergenic coat, I’m totally fine!  He doesn’t shed AT ALL!  I wear black all the time…and nothing! Louie is a smart dog!  From an early age, he knew how to sit, lay, shake and stay.  After only a few nights after bringing him home, Louie slept all night in his crate and didn’t have to go the bathroom. Potty and house training has been a breeze!

The best thing about Louie is that it has brought our family closer.  Having teenagers unfortunately results in less family time as they are busy with school, sports and friends, but…since having Louie, we all hang out just a bit more together…we sit in the family room and play with Louie and we talk.  Isn’t that awesome! For me personally, Louie is an amazing companionship dog.  Watching your kids grow up and become more independent is a hard season as a mom and Louie is making that transition easier. Coming home to a happy, excited dog is the best!

If you are considering this breed, I 100% recommend it and I 100% recommend Brad and Sarah Ellis. They are honest people who have a heart and passion for these dogs and truly want only the best for each puppy!

Donut

We 100% recommend Northwoods Irish Doodles!  My husband Petey and I were looking for a dog who was: hypoallergenic, friendly, good with kids, and a calm presence to keep us company - our puppy has blown that list out of the water!  We feel so lucky to have "Donut" as a part of our family, and we are thankful to have breeders that made our first experience with a puppy so easy and stress free!

Northwoods Irish Doodles was easy to get in touch with, gave us the resources and tools we needed, helped us determine the personality of our puppy for the best fit, spent tons of time socializing all of their puppies, and sent us home with next steps for training.  Emerald or "Eme" the mom is the sweetest most cuddly dog, and our puppy Donut has turned out to be just as friendly.  We have taken Donut to the dog park several times and she has proven to be the friendliest dog even when encountering other shy or aggressive dogs.  As far as health - every vet visit has been passed with flying colors.

If you are looking for a playful, sweet tempered dog to keep you company, without all the shedding, then Northwoods Irish Doodles is the place to find your puppy! (:

IZZY

When we wanted to get Irish Doodle puppy, we did a lot of research. Found Northwoods Irish Doodles online and contacted them. Within minutes of talking to Sarah on the phone we knew that this was the perfect choice and situation for our family. I was very impressed with the questions asked by Sarah when first called. Exchanged many texts during the months while we waited for a puppy. It turned out to be longer than we had originally expected but it was 110% worth it!

I became aware of Sarah’s devotion to her Irish Doodles, her thoughtful breeding decisions, and her loving care of the puppies and mom, Emme. She gave us the resources and tools we needed, answered all questions we had.

And YES!- You really can fall in love with puppy eyes(: . Izzy is everything we had hoped, and everything Irish Doodle should be. She is beautiful, healthy, outgoing, and energetic, as well as incredibly smart. She is also a super intelligent dog.

We feel very very fortunate to have had the change to deal with such a responsible, communicative and honest breeder. We love our Izzy and after our experience getting new puppy we Highly recommended this breeder looking for Irish Doodles.

Thank you

Laine

We weren’t actively looking to add to our family but circumstances and people brought us to our home’s missing piece.  We had been without a furry friend for almost 10 years but our love for dogs never waned.  Numerous family and friends had family dogs and we knew at some point in the future we would have one of our own again.   Northwoods Irishdoodles came highly recommended from a family member and was really a visit back in time that connected our past with our present and eventually our future .  We grew up going to the christian camp that is located steps from the home of Brad and Sarah.

We came into the process of adopting our precious puppy late in the game.  Most of the litter had been paired up with their future homes and had visitors on Selection Day.  Our puppy was the only girl left in the litter.   After viewing the pictures and seeing the numerous videos of her we knew she was the last one for a reason...she was meant to be ours.  You really can fall in love with puppy eyes.  Within minutes of talking to Sarah on the phone we knew that this was the perfect situation for us.   Northwoods Irishdoodles may have only bred their precious Eme once but to us they seemed like pros.  The amount of care, detail and just plain ol’ love that they poured into these puppies was evident from a distance and became perfectly clear once we brought our puppy home.  Not only was our veterinarian super impressed with the records that we were given, he had never seen such detail in the information provided and care given to a puppy.

Laine acclimated to our family and adjusted to our home and routines quickly.  She is a super intelligent dog, who has almost human-like abilities to communicate with you via just her eyes.  She fills the role of rough & tumble playmate, relax & chill sidekick and little sister.  She has stolen the hearts of all who enter our home and they have come to love her as much as we do...if that’s even possible.  She has made friends with the neighborhood dogs and loves having impromptu playdates in the yard.  She has a virtual following of her daily antics that we capture on camera because I’m not sure people would really believe us if we didn't have it on film!

If you are reading this review, then know you have at least made the best first step.  Northwoods Irishdoodles is where you will find the best addition to your family.  You won’t regret adopting your newest family member from Brad & Sarah...you’ll just regret not adopting sooner!
